Alaska Carpenters Training Trust
Whether selecting a career as a Carpenter, Millwright, Scaffold Erector, Piledriver, or Diver we will provide you with the building blocks to a promising and fulfilling future in the industry. Our training lays the foundation by providing instruction in a classroom and shop setting on builder’s math, tool skills, material knowledge, job site safety, as well as theory and practice of the trade.
As an apprentice you can “earn while you learn” by working on Union construction job sites, as available, in between classroom sessions. The programs are all a four years in duration with the classroom portion ranging from 2 to 6 week blocks, once or twice per year.
You must be physically capable of performing the demanding work duties which include heavy repetitive lifting, bending, twisting, carrying, and climbing for a minimum of 8 hours a day. You also must be an Alaska state resident 30 days prior to the start of class, pass a drug test, have a valid Alaska drivers license, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be drug free.
