Alaska Ironworkers Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee
Description
The Alaska Ironworkers Local 751 started training Alaskans over fifty years ago, when they established their apprenticeship program in Anchorage in 1953. The programs trains ironworkers in all aspects of bridge, structural, ornamental and reinforcing iron for general and structural steel contractors throughout Alaska. The program is a statewide program.
The Alaska Ironworkers Apprenticeship school is located in South Anchorage on Schoon Street. The training program also has a portable training module they use to train in rural areas of Alaska.

Structural Metal Fabricators and Fitters
Designed to prepare aspiring metal fabricators for successful careers in the industry. Throughout the program, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to learn how to fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures and equipment, such as beams, frames, and scaffolds. You'll receive a combination of hands-on training, classroom instruction, and on-the-job experience to help you develop the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful career.
Structural Iron and Steel Workers
Designed to help you launch a successful career in the construction industry. During the program, you will learn how to install and reinforce structural steel frames and plates, as well as perform welding and cutting tasks, all while working alongside experienced professionals. The program provides hands-on training, classroom instruction, and on-the-job experience to give you the knowledge and skills needed to become a skilled Structural Iron and Steel Worker.
